HYUR Manufacturing is seeking an experienced 1st Shift Tool & Die Maker for our partner in Cincinnati, OH!

The anticipated wage for this position ranges between $30 – $45. Hourly wages may depend upon experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Summary of position:
As an experienced Tool & Die Maker you will be responsible for constructing precision tools or metal forms, called dies, that are used to cut, shape, and mold metal, plastics, and other materials.

Essential Functions:

  • Operate machines for various pieces of material and components to make, modify, or repair tools, dies, and more.
  • Review blueprints and determine materials needed.
  • Test out new production equipment or tooling.
  • Modify and rework tooling.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances.
  • Develop specifications for specialty tools and draws the design of product.
  • Operate machinery in a safe manner and maintain 6S standards.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED

Experience:

  • Min. 5 years of experience as a Tool and Die Maker.
  • Maintaining and repairing production dies.
  • ProtoTRAK
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading.
  • Basic computer and math skills.
  • Troubleshooting

Summary of position:
As a Quality Tech you are responsible for preventing unsatisfactory products from reaching the shelves by examining materials for flaws and deviations from original product specifications. You will inspect, accept, or reject products for durability, function, customer satisfaction, and overall quality.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspection using hand and automated inspection tools.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documents.
  • Use precision measurement, automated inspection, and hand tools.
  • Process and collect inspection data.
  • Complete tasks under time constraints.
  • Perform quality related tasks including planning/completing first articles.
  • Follow all departmental procedures while performing accept/reject evaluations.
  • Provide feedback to the Quality Supervisor and operations group regarding issues or problems identified during inspection.
  • Perform data collection and record inspection results following completion of inspection activities.
  • Focus 60% on the paint line and 40% on other departments.
  • Coordinate and maintain calibrated tools using the Gage Tracker software system.
  • Perform additional tasks assigned by the Quality Supervisor

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED

Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience performing visual or dimensional inspection of mechanical products
  • Hand and automated inspection tools
  • CMM operation
  • Interpret and utilize blueprints and drawings.
  • Accept/Reject evaluations.
  • MRP systems
  • Basic math skills
  • Dependable and persistent in completing tasks.
  • Computer literate and able to process inspection data in a timely manner.

Summary of position:

As a Manual Machinist you are responsible for helping create tools and other components using a variety of equipment, such as a lathe, a drill press, a micrometer, and grinding machines.

Essential Functions:

  • Set up, adjust, and operate manual machine tools.
  • Read blueprints to determine what equipment and materials are necessary for the job.
  • Follow the blueprints to create the appropriate tools and components.
  • Perform diversified and difficult operations requiring close/exact tolerances on products with various dimensions, while working with unusual contours and finishing specifications.
  • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors.
  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials into machine.
  • Start and observe machine operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as required.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure it remains in good working order.
  • Maintain and inspect cutting tools for sharpness and usability.
  • May weld hard tacks to secure parts as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed or as assigned.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Vocational training course completion is a plus.

Experience:

  • Knowledge of standard tools, materials, and methods required.
  • Setting up jigs and fixtures.
  • Worked with large capitol parts.
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Operate a forklift and overhead crane.

  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts; checking/replacing fluid; replacing filters.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them using blueprints, repair manuals or parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Identify and replace parts, as necessary.
  • Work with machine suppliers to assist with troubleshooting when necessary.
  • Perform facility maintenance.
  • Other tasks as required.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Vocational training course completion is a plus.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Understand and follow electrical schematics.
  • Basic knowledge of CNC machines: spindles, ball screws, bearings, scales.
  • Ability to read and interpret machine manuals and documentation.
  • Capable of using precision measurement and standard hand/power tools.
  • Previous industrial maintenance experience
  • Experience with CNC controls.

  • Fully set-up CNC Mills and/or Lathes.

  • Starts, stops, and sets up CNC machines.

  • Machines parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.

  • Document set up information.

  • Processes parts by following blueprints and other specifications.

  • Inspect and document quality of all parts manufactured.

  • Diagnose and correct machine problems with minimal supervision.

  • Perform daily maintenance.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CNC schooling certificate is a plus.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience operating and setting up CNC Mill and/or Lathe Machines.
  • Knowledge of G & M codes.
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading.
  • Intermediate math skills
  • Function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
