This position will be cross trained to preform duties such as: vitals, height/weight, temperature and pulse rate.

Summary of position: As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for assisting Doctors and Nurses in providing care to their patients including recording and updating medical histories and contact information in patient files, scheduling patient appointments and performing standard care procedures like drawing blood, injections, checking vitals, or collecting lab samples.
Essential Functions:
Assist patients by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, preparing them for examinations, and providing comfort and support during visits.
Perform routine clinical tasks such as administering medications, assisting with minor procedures, drawing blood, and conducting basic lab tests.
Schedule patient appointments, manage medical records, handle patient intake and discharge processes, and perform other office duties such as answering phones and processing paperwork.
Educate patients on treatment plans, medication usage, and health maintenance. Provide clear and empathetic communication to ensure patient understanding and comfort.
Prepare and sterilize medical instruments, maintain equipment, and ensure all tools and supplies are readily available and in good condition.
Adhere to all healthcare regulations and privacy laws (such as HIPAA) to protect patient information and ensure a safe, compliant practice.
Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure effective communication within the team.
Assist in emergency situations by providing first aid, CPR, and other necessary interventions until further medical help arrives.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a Medical Assistant training program or equivalent clinical experience.
Experience and Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year as a Medical Assistant (CMA)
Minimum of 1–3 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical or healthcare setting.
Minimum of 1 year experience with EMR systems.
Minimum of 1 year experience taking vital signs.
Additional certifications or specialized training in areas such as phlebotomy or medical coding.
Proficiency in medical terminology and basic clinical procedures.
