Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit aka PODS. Patients with the following diagnosis Abdominal Revascularization/Pneumonia/Acute Respiratory Failure (ARDS; Pulmonary Edema; Pulmonary Embolus)/Diabetes Mellitus/Sepsis/Septic Shock/Sirs/Acute Renal Failure/Multiple Organ System Failure/Stroke/Intracranial Hemorrhage/S/P Craniotomy/CVA/Liver Failure/Hypertension/Hypotension/Pancreatitis/Post Neuroradiology Interventional Procedures
Prefer 2 years of experience with post surgical patients. Specifically, advanced pain control (PCA, epidural, IV pain medication administration and monitoring); surgical drain and wound management including ostomy/urostomy care; NG/FT management , tube feed administration, foley care and irrigation including 3 way continuous bladder irrigation; PICC line care with TPN administration and IV antibiotic administration.
The Emergency Room RN must be able to triage patients and prioritize care, while continually evaluating condition and stability by any of the following: Conscious Sedation, Starting IVs, Cardiac Drips and Cardiac Monitoring.
The ER RN must be able to assess emergent conditions and intervene appropriately in accordance with hospital policies and physician direction.
